Biodiversity Units available once final ecology and legal work is complete - Eastgate Quarry is a substantial former limestone quarry situated on the elevated hillsides south of the River Wear in Weardale. Following the closure of quarrying operations, the landscape now offers extensive potential for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) delivery. Its varied and unique topography make it an ideal location for generating Open Mosaic Habitat (OMH) units to support developments that impact on the same 'High' distinctiveness habitat type. This type of habitat is often associated with industrial sites, railway sidings or waste ground. Biodiversity units will be for sale as whole or in part, as required by buyers (subject to availability and minimum unit pricing). Discounts may be available for substantial purchases.
