About the Value Profile
What is a Value Profile?
Each project listed on the North East Carbon and Nature Marketplace has a Value Profile assigned to it. This Profile is a visual representation of how each project listed on our Marketplace delivers on five key values:
- Social Value & Community Benefits;
- Biodiversity Conservation & Enhancement;
- Climate Resilience & Adaptation;
- Air & Water Quality Improvement; and
- Waste Reduction & Circular Economy.
Each project is scored against these five values, from a score of 1 to 5. Scoring is undertaken based on project owner's descriptions of the projects, and any additional supporting information they provide. The scores represent the following contribution levels:
Why use a Value Profile?
The scoring, and how the Value Profile is displayed, helps potential buyers filter projects by values that are of most importance to them. It is not the intention that each project tries to score as highly as possible in every value. Instead, we anticipate that most projects will score highly in one or two values only.
The Value Profile can be used in conjunction with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals - which are also displayed on each project list - to help a potential buyer refine their choice of projects to explore further.
An example of a hypothetical project Value Profile is below:
How do project owners create a Value Profile for their listings?
Once you have created an account, and listed your draft project listing on to the Marketplace, simply head to the Learning Hub and download the Value Matrix form. You'll be prompted to do this upon listing your draft project, along with the Due Diligence form.
Once you have submitted your Value Matrix form, we will return the scored version back to you, and display the Value Profile generated by this on your project listing.
You can learn more about the Value Profile by downloading the North East Carbon and Nature Marketplace Guide in our Learning Hub.
